JORD Ladies Watches, a Great Unique Gift

I am so so excited to be writing this bog today! As much as I love decorating my home I also love photography and I love getting to try out products and sharing that information with all of you! This post combines those last two things so needless to say I am a happy camper at the moment. JORD reached out to me to try out one of their wood watches and I was more then happy to join in the craze that is JORD right now! I have seen the beautiful wrist watches around instagram land so I was already a bit familiar with them when I got the email. It took me all of about 2 seconds to respond with a big YES! I was lucky enough to get to pick and receive the Zebrawood & Turquoise watch from the Cora Collection. It is such a beautiful piece of jewelry! They have a ton of other options in all different styles which you can find here. I took some fun photos of the watch I received so you can see how lovely they are! It even comes in a lovely wood box! (PS I love shooting product photography…I'm weird like that!)

This watch would make such a unique gift for anyone in your life, they even have mens as well. This watch seems to be made very well, is pretty lightweight, and very comfortable to wear! One of the things I really love is that it's a skeleton watch so you can see all the gears inside and even a little window on the front! My honest opinion is that these are so different then any other watch I have seen or worn which makes it such a great piece to add to any wardrobe. I very much hope you look into it! As a bonus they are offering a little giveaway to my readers! Everyone who enters is a winner, here are the details….

There are no losers for this contest! The winner will receive a $75 coupon toward any watch and the "losers" will all receive a $20 coupon. How fun that every person who enters get something!

The contest will close 7/29 at 11:59pm where a winner will be randomly chosen by JORD

The winner's $75 coupon code will expire 8/29 and the "losers" $20 coupon code will expire 11/29.

Sweet Girl Baby Shower Decor

I had the pleasure of throwing my twin sister a baby shower a few weeks ago and I wanted to share with you all how I decorated for it! I wanted it be cute and girly but still sophisticated and colorful for my sister. The nice thing about having a neutral house is that you can really do anything and it will match which is super helpful. The biggest find for this party was the Target dollar spot having a ton of baby shower items in the colors we wanted to do! They had games and decor and I snatched up a ton of stuff for the shower which saved me a lot of time and money.

I made a little entry way where guests could fill out return addresses for thank you notes to save some time for the new parents. I also made a little chalkboard with the due date (cause everyone always asks!). I also made a little sign with balloons out front so people could find the house but I completely forgot to take a photo of that.

Above is the other side where I hung up some pretty lace for a photo back drop and a sign above the bench that says GIFTS so people could drop off their gifts when they come in. The fringe banner I made from tissue paper I had left over. There are great diy instructions online if you google it.

For the living room I kept it simple with flowers, lace, and a few other items sprinkled around. I put the games and prizes on my entertainment center. I have a collection of children books from my mom that I used as well to add a little vintage touch.

Of course my go to things are flowers and books! I picked up several types of flowers at my local grocery store and arranged them into mason jars around the room. Flowers always make things better!

The drink station included flavored water, iced tea, and raspberry lemonade. So yummy! The little banner was one of the finds in the dollar spot. I cut out the letters from scrapbook paper.

We wanted to do food but not a ton of food and we wanted it to be pretty easy. It sort of blew up into this haha! We did three types of sandwiches, cheese and crackers, cupcakes, tortilla rolls, fruit, veggie dips and little bruschetta bites. Everything was really good and it looked amazing! My mom and I already had all the platters so that made it easier. It was actually all pretty easy to throw together.

A little rare photo of myself right before people starting arriving. It ended up being a fun successful shower and I had a lot of fun putting everything together. And of course it was even more special since it was for my twin sister and the first of my siblings to have a little one! I know this isn't my typical decor post but I thought it would be fun to show you all how I put together a fun get together and maybe give you some ideas for parties of your own! Hopefully you enjoyed it and thank you for stopping by!

Chalk Paint Night Stand Makeover

Hey you guys! I am back today with another furniture makeover, this time in my style. I have been slowly filling my home lately and changing out some of my older cheaper furniture with some better more sturdy pieces. One of the last things on that list was some new night stands for my guest room. I of course still don't like to spend a ton of money so I have teamed up with an amazing app called Close5 which you can download on your phone or use on your computer. It is a great tool to buy and sell from around your town. One thing I liked a lot is you can place a bid and then chat right on the app with the seller so it was really easy to use! I found a pair of nightstands I thought would make great side tables once they were painted for only $40 so I reached out to the seller and boom they were mine! I picked them up and brought them home and got ready to makeover these little cuties. Here is what they looked like when I first grabbed them.

The color was not going to work at all for my home with that orange hue. I hate sanding so the best bet for me was to use chalk paint. All I do is wipe down the table and then its ready for paint! I love that I don't have to prep at all to use it. I had some leftover chalk paint from Home Depot I tried awhile back so I thought it would be perfect to use the leftover paint for this project. One of the things I liked about this piece was that all the hardware came off so it was much easier to paint! It took a couple of coats to cover completely and then I added a layer of clear Annie Sloan Wax to seal it.

The tables ended up being a little too short so I bought some legs from Lowes and added them to the bottom. I decorated them with some old books, botanical prints from Hobby Lobby, lamps (which I can't remember where I got), and plants from Ikea. I love the pop they all have off of the white tables!

I am loving the bigger side tables for this room. The old ones were a little too small. These fit the space much better and will be much more useful for guests. They also add some fun character to the space! If you want to find your own treasures make sure you add the Close5 app to your phone, either Buy and sell app for iPhone or Buy and sell app for Android, or online at You can find wonderful pieces for a great price. With a little work you can turn an ugly duckling into something special for your space! Would you have snagged these side tables? Thank you so much for stopping by!

 I was compensated to review
the Close5 app but as always
my opinions are my own!
